About
• Alba Rose •
Alba Rose, the UK-born, New Zealand–raised indie-soul artist, now based in Dublin embodies the essence of her namesake drawn from her Spanish linage, translating to English to mean “first light of the early dawn” or “rising sun”.
Raised in the mountain village of Wānaka within the Southern Alps of New Zealand, Rose’s music reflects her adventurous spirit and deep connection to nature. Alba Rose’s debut was with her single “Eve” in August 2021, followed by her self-produced EP 'Silhouette' in November 2021.
Her songwriting centres on connection, vulnerability, and emotional nuance, with a strong focus on vocal expression and dynamic arrangements. She is often associated with artists such as Lianne La Havas, ELIZA, and the more understated moments of Wolf Alice.
Alba Rose has been featured by BBC Introducing (2025) and international platforms including EARMILK, KCRW, and Clout, with multiple releases reaching the NZ Top 40 and Top 20 Hot Singles charts. Her music has received radio support across the UK, Europe and the US.
In December 2024, Alba released her sophomore six-track EP First Light, a deeply introspective project exploring themes of transformation and self-discovery. After moving to Berlin in 2024 to explore a new creative landscape for a year, she is now permanently based in Dublin, where she is at the beginning of a new rediscovered musical chapter.
