About
• Alba Rose •
Alba Rose, the indie-soul artist from New Zealand embodies the essence of her namesake drawn from her Spanish linage, translating to English to mean “first light of the early dawn” or “rising sun”.
Raised in the mountain village of Wānaka within the Southern Alps of New Zealand, Rose’s music reflects her adventurous spirit and deep connection to nature. Alba Rose’s debut was with her single “Eve” in August 2021, followed by her self-produced EP 'Silhouette' in November 2021.
Before this solo venture, Alba Rose was the front woman for the indie-rock band Corduroy, who performed at major festivals (Rhythm & Vines and Bay Dreams), to sold-out national tours and achieved notable success with their hit single “The Usual” across the NZ Top #20 Charts.
Over the past few years, Alba has gained international recognition, with her work featured on platforms such as Earmilk, CLOUT, Backseatmafia, KCRW and ZM, and has been played on various global radio stations. She has had multiple songs feature on the NZ Top 40 and NZ Top 20 Hot Singles Charts, and was highlighted across Apple Music as a feature artist with her single 'Home'.
In December 2024, Alba released her sophomore six-track EP, First Light, a deeply introspective project exploring themes of transformation and self-discovery. Having relocated to Berlin in October of 2024, this EP symbolises the closing of one chapter and the birthing of a new, bringing with it global inspiration and a growing audience across Europe and the UK.
